Valli Unite Ottavio Rube Rosso
Valli Unite Ottavio Rube Rosso is a delicious Dolcetto and Croatina blend. It is named after one of the co-op’s founders Ottavio Rubé himself; whose twinkly-eyed, white-bearded countenance belies a deeply philosophical and idealistic character. The wine displays fresh red fruit on the nose, red cherry, and a light-to-medium body. Following delicate tannin and savoury flavours on a palate structured by unquestionably refreshing acidity. A great all rounder for tapas/picnic lunches as well as hearty ragus and stews.
‘Società Agricola Valli Unite’ is a co-operative born over thirty years ago. The company was started by three young men from local farming families who were deeply attached to their land. Always holding a belief in organic farming and biodiversity, subsequently, they are committed to a way of life and farming that would undoubtedly be traditional and sustainable. The coop that they started now numbers four families and 25 people. Each of them bringing strengths and talents from vine-growing and wine-making to cheesemaking, animal husbandry and butchery. The co-operative also owns a restaurant and shop selling their own produce.
What never ceases to impress with Valli Unite wines is the vibrancy and sense of place that each offering has, not to mention the wines’ sheer, joyous drink-ability.
