On the palate Salvo Foti I Vigneri Rosso is delicate and fine with a bright acidity and silky smooth tannins. Then leading into a long, mineral spiced finish.
Salvo is one of those personalities that have reached cult status in Italy, pioneering the renaissance of natural winemaking on Etna, with followers and admirers all around the world. The “Guild” of I Vigneri, is an old institution of 15thCentury that he helped revitalise. Today it is recognised as an unrivaled authority on the true spirit of Etna. I Vigneri is an association of farmers and wine makers that gather around Salvo. The idea is to preserve the knowledge on how to refurb, maintain, and if needed, create new vineyards on Etna.
