Patrick Bouju ‘Mol’

Patrick Bouju ‘Mol’ is made in Auvergne, France by Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau of Domaine La Bohème. A red blend with an eclectic mix of Merlot, Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Muscat, and Gamay. With some grapes sourced from outside the region, thus bringing a diverse and unique character to the wine.

Patrick Bouju ‘Mol’ is an easy-drinking, yet expressive wine. The addition of Muscat lightens the body, balancing out the more robust qualities from the Syrah and Grenache. This makes for a wine that’s fresh, smooth, and incredibly drinkable, nonetheless still possessing layers of complexity. Its deep fruit flavors of dark berries, alongside a hint of spice, violets, and blackberries, create an enjoyable yet structured wine. The 2021 vintage delivers youthful vibrancy, with a smooth mouthfeel and silky tannins, making it a joy to sip on.

Domaine La Bohème, located in Saint-Georges-sur-Allier, was founded by the winemakers in 2004 from a deep love for nature and an aversion to sulfites. The Domaine has garnered a cult following for producing wines that are organically farmed and naturally vinified. Bouju’s wines, including ‘J’, are highly sought after for their unique expression and commitment to authenticity. The combination of his expertise in the vineyard and cellar results in wines that are as distinctive as they are delicious.
