Partida Creus ‘GT’ – the air crackles with conversation and compassion; a hearth of kinship that burns with fascination. The GT, a raging fire of vibrancy, acts as the fulcrum, the viticultural virtue, around which the L’Atitude team decompresses. A beautiful memory of post-service R&R that this wine induces. A rustic marriage of brooding overtones and a volatile undercutting of peppy, pronounced fruit; an endless renewal of vows on a reverberating back-palette. Initially tickling the nose with bright red fruit aromas, gently mingled with game, cinnamon and nutmeg. Coming alive on the palette are those sour cherry and wild strawberry notes, unrelenting in the face of molasses, mushroom and a touch of smoke. A lip-tingling acidity leaves one yearning for the whole bottle.

The Partida Creus project has been a labour of sustainable love since 2007 for Italian architects Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori. Having uprooted their lives in Piedmont, they sought agricultural solace in Bonastre, a whistle-stop village in the Baix Penedés region. The initiative was spearheaded by ecological yearnings from the outset; they renovated a dilapidated farmhouse with recycled materials, purchased vineyards that were almost, if not fully abandoned and began working towards reintegrating forgotten varietals into the viticultural zeitgeist. Some of these autochthonous varieties had been disqualified from the D.O altogether, most were verging on complete obsolescence. This was not solely a wine-making operation but a restoration of regional history, yielded by tradition and happy soils.

Partida Creus ‘GT’ – a cockle-warming gyration of chasmic character; ultimately, a triumph. A patient incitement of giddy conversation that gradually reveals itself to us the longer that it’s open. An exceptionally honest ode to the Baix-Penedés region that shall undoubtedly put a little rhythm back into one’s feet. An electric dance-partner, magnetic and unmissable.
