Les Vigneaux Syrah

Les Vigneaux Syrah is a naturally made, biodynamic red from the village of Valvignères in the Ardèche. Grown in the warm, stony hills between Montélimar and Aubenas, this Syrah balances sun-drenched fruit with a fresh, savoury edge.

Les Vigneaux Syrah is a medium-bodied wine with a generous nose of baked red fruits, dried herbs, and wild garrigue. On the palate, it shows ripe blackberries and black cherries, underscored by a firm tannic grip and earthy herbs. Despite its warmth and richness, the wine remains structured and energetic, thanks to careful farming and minimal handling in the cellar. A juicy, food-ready red wine.

Hélène and Christophe Comte run the 13-hectare Domaine des Vigneaux, now in its third generation. Certified organic since 2001 and working biodynamically since 2009, they focus on cultivating healthy soils and balanced vines. The team enriches the vineyard with herbal teas and composts, using minimal copper and encouraging the vines’ natural defences. The goal is to express each parcel’s terroir as transparently as possible.

In the cellar, the philosophy is one of minimal intervention. The grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. No additives or sulfur are used at any point, allowing the wine to evolve freely and express its origin without interference.
