Judith Beck Weissburgunder

Judith Beck Weissburgunder (aka Pinot Blanc) is a fragrant and refreshing white wine. It is pale golden-yellow colour, with aromas of citrus, pears and white peaches accompanied by an attractive spiciness. The palate is full-bodied and its ripe citrus and exotic fruit flavours are perfectly balanced by the wine’s refreshing acidity. It has a lovely lingering finish. The grapes for this Weissburgunder are picked by hand. After fermentation, it is then matured for 6 months in oak casks on its lees.

Judith Beck’s winery is run as a family business. From 2007 Judith has produced wines in accordance with biodynamic principles. The winery is housed in an impressive airy new building in the middle of the vineyards from Gols.
“We encourage the formation of humus, as a basis of healthy soils, by regularly applying cattle manure which we prepare ourselves and by cultivating grass between the rows. Herbal teas (such as stinging nettle, chamomile, field horsetail …) and biodynamic field sprays such as horn manure and horn silica are used under the consideration of moon rhythms; their purpose being to strengthen resistance and further the physiological ripeness of grapes.”
Low Intervention = No chemicals in the vineyard, no additives (except for homeopathic amount of SO2) in the winery.
