Hughes Beguet “Oh Yeah!”

Hughes Beguet “Oh Yeah!” is a Savagnin (ouillé) with a cloudy appearance, presenting subtle fruity aromas of grapefruit and pineapple. It showcases lively tension and a refreshing, mineral finish.

Hughes Beguet “Oh Yeah!” is juicy, aromatic, and full of energy, with a friendly, approachable character.

The name “Oh Yeah” is a wordplay based on to the “ouillé” (ullage) style, in which winemakers top up barrels with new wine to prevent oxidation.

Béguet harvests Savagnin from three separate vineyards. A portion of the grapes (10%) undergoes a brief skin maceration, and fermentation is carried out using natural yeasts. The wine is aged in fiberglass tanks and a small number of old barrels. “Oh Yeah” is neither fined nor filtered prior to bottling.

The Beguet family’s 4.5-hectare estate in Mesnay, Jura, is committed to organic and biodynamic practices, receiving Demeter certification since 2009. They focus on creating wines that reflect the true nature of the region, with blends and extended macerations in the cellar to develop wines that are not only complex but also textural and colorful. The family’s dedication to sustainability and the environment ensures that each bottle expresses the natural harmony of the land.

Their vineyard, located just outside Arbois in the Les Planches-près-Arbois gorge, primarily grows Ploussard for reds and Savagnin for whites, with a focus on producing wines that respect both the environment and the health of their customers.
