Frantz Saumon ‘Vin de Frantz’

Frantz Saumon ‘Vin de Frantz’ is a Loire Valley blend of Chenin Blanc, Menu Pineau, and Romorantin. Farmed organically and biodynamically with Ecocert certification. Nutty aromas of caramel and apple on the nose invite you to a rich, refreshing palate that is honeyed, round and waxy, with a contrasting crisp acidity making for a highly drinkable wine.

Saumon farms approximately 6 hectares of vines on fossil-rich clay soils in Montlouis sur Loire, south of Vouvray and east of Tours. All grapes are organically grown and harvested by hand, with native yeasts kicking off spontaneous fermentations and only minimum sulfur is very restricted, and only used when needed. Since 2001, Frantz Saumon has taken over these vineyards and converted them from conventional farming to the organic and biodynamic approach he uses today.
