Christian Binner Salon des Bains Riesling

Christian Binner Salon des Bains is a fine and elegant Riesling from Alsace. The nose has lovely aromas of white flowers and creamy citrus notes. It feels lively in the mouth with flavours of blood orange, orange zest and pears finishing with a fresh, mineral character.

The grapes are picked by hand when they are very ripe and some clusters attacked by botrytis which gives it a wonderful honeyed, almost waxy flavour. The wine is also aged for 10 months in centenary oak barrels adding to the wine’s complexity.

The Binner family has owned vines in Alsace since 1770 and today they practice organic and biodynamic agriculture. They neither fine nor filter the wine and use only natural yeasts and minimal sulphur.
