Casina Bric ‘Mesdi’

Casina Bric ‘Mesdi’ is 100% Nebbiolo, hand-picked in early September. A light ruby colour with a touch of garnet. Rose petals, sweet spices with notes of dark chocolate and fresh herbs on the nose. On the palate, fresh and fruity with medium grippy tannins and balanced acidity. The wine is complex and delicate, with excellent potential for aging.

For Casina Bric ‘Mesdi’, fermentation and skin contact takes place in stainless steel and cement tanks for as long as 40 days. Part of the wine spends time aging in large wooden casks for 6 to 8 months before allowing the wine to rest for another 8 to 12 months.

Gianluca Viberti founded Casina Bric in the heart of Barolo over a decade ago after more than 20 years of experience tending to vineyards. Casina Bric (meaning Hilltop Farm in Piemontese) is one of the most elevated estates in Barolo, at 460m above sea level. Viberti aims to respect nature in every aspect, achieving this by farming organically, and by maintaining traditional customs and methods both in the vineyard and the cellar.
