Fonterenza “Rosa” Toscana Rosato

Fonterenza “Rosa” Toscana Rosato is a Tuscan rose made with 100% Sangiovese grapes. Using a traditional method ‘Saignée’, grapes are macerated for around 10 hours before the free-run juice is separated. This technique extracts rich colour and aromas into the wine. Spontaneous fermentation takes place before the wine is aged for ~7 months in inox cuve.

The resulting wine is a refreshing ‘summer sangiovese’ with red fruits and wild herbs.

Based in Montalcino, Tuscany, Fonterenza are well-regarded and known for their thoughtful, small-scale production of wine. Producing natural wines through careful and considered farming, healthy vines, and minimal interventions in the cellar. Founded in 1997 by sisters Margherita and Francesca, the vineyards are worked biodynamically, with just over four hectares, and primarily growing sangiovese.
