CINECAFE: THE TASTE OF THINGS – Wednesday May 8th 6.45pm
Join us for next CineCafe on Wed 8th May when we show one of the most beautiful food movies to hit the screens in the past year. ‘The Taste of Things’ from Vietnamese Director Trân Anh Hùng, starring Juliette Binoche and Benôit Magimel is a sumptuous and sensuous celebration of love and food.
Set in 19th century France, it tells the story of a beautiful cook, Eugenie, and her gourmand employer, Dodin, and how their love for each other and their shared passion for food gives rise to incredible dishes that impress the world’s most illustrious chefs. Set almost entirely in the kitchen, grounds and dining room of a country chateau, the food preparation scenes are mouthwatering and evocative – a study of chopping, sieving, tasting and savouring.
The movie was premiered in Ireland last November as part of Cork International Film Festival’s Culinary Strand and we had the pleasure to provide the tastes after the movie – both movie and the tastes were a huge success. But this time round, we get to screen the movie as part of our CineCafe as well as put our spin on it through our taste. So book yourself a seat and see how we interpret this beautiful movie!
Wednesday March 13th 6.45pm Tickets €32pp for movie and matching tastes. Email info@latitude51.ie to book.Note: as this is our interpretation of the movie through taste, we are unable to cater for individual dietary requirements.
