Our next CineCafe is one for food and movie lovers alike.
Set in a remote Danish village in the mid-1800s, this Oscar-winning film follows 2 devout elderly sisters who take in Babette, who has just fled Paris, as a housekeeper. When Babette suddenly wins the lottery, she uses the money on a lavish meal for her new Danish friends -which the pious community first frowns upon, but as soon as they taste the food she’s prepared, they devour every morsel with unashamed pleasure.
Slow-paced and quiet, but incredibly powerful – this is one gem of a movie and not to be missed!
So clear the diaries next Wed 31st May (7pm) and book yourself a seat for arguably the greatest food movie of all time and see how we interpret it through taste!
Email info@latitude51.ie to book. €32pp.
As we’re coming into the summer, this will be our last CineCafe until the Autumn.
