Wednesday 3rd May 7pm
Our next CINECAFÉ will be on Wednesday May 3rd at 7pm, when we will be showing the documentary ‘WINE CALLING’ – a beautiful wine documentary about the highs and lows of making natural wine set in the South-West of France.
Discover everything you ever wanted to know about natural wine. Spiked with a punk-rock soundtrack, Wine Calling is an intoxicating documentary about the boozy new counterculture taking over the French countryside. Though there are more than 3000 wine growers in France, less than 3% of them work in organic methods of production. Driven by both ethical concerns and endless passion, a small community of joyous rebels have invaded the vineyards in pursuit of their ultimate goal – deliciously natural wine free of chemicals and regulations. Following the revolution for over a year, filmmaker Bruno Sauvard documents the intricate process from harvest to bottling, revealing a rising global movement in taste and sustainability.
Jean-Francois Nicq is one of the leading protagonists in this documentary, whose wines, made under the label Les Foulards Rouges, we absolutely adore. Join us for this beautiful documentary and see how we interpret it through taste with the help of Jean-Francois and his friends!
