A Taste of The Savoie – Fri 21st & Sat 22nd Jan
The 8pm restrictions are making it very difficult for people to get out after work, so we’ve decided to BRING BACK our L’Atitude-at-Home boxes until the restrictions are lifted – YAY!!
For this week’s box, we looked at the grey skies and immediately decided it was time for something hearty, so we’re bringing back ‘A Taste of Savoie’. Imagine steep mountain slopes, powdery snow, and your favourite snowy past-time be it skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, or simply après-ski, and plenty of hearty cheese-filled dishes! We’ve tried to replicate this in a box for you to recreate your own après-ski at home!
We’re taking you to the Haute-Savoie in the French Alps, perhaps better known for the glitzy ski resorts of Chamonix and Morzine. Less well known are its wines, but exceptional all the same. In L’Atitude we are fascinated by the influence that altitude has on vines and also how traditional winemaking seems to be preserved better the higher up you go. We can’t get enough of these fresh, lively wines with their distinctly ‘mountainous’ flavour profile. Not to mention the fact that they pair so well with the myriad of decadent cheese-based dishes you find whereever green pastures meet snow-capped peaks.
Our wine this week is Cru Frangy Roussette de Savoie by Bruno Lupin – a reference point for exceptional white wine in the Savoie.
As usual our tastes are selected to highlight the wine’s unique flavours- and cheese will feature quite prominently!
Box costs €50 for 2 people. Orders via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or via Instgram or Facebook by midday Thursday. Collection on Fri 21st or Sat 22nd between 3 and 7.00pm
